Shawn Hornbeck was just 11-years-old when he disappeared while riding his bicycle to a friend’s house in Missouri. He had ridden through this area many times before, but this time was much different.

It was 2002 and it was as if Shawn had just vanished. His parents Pam and Craig, spent hours and hours searching for him. They depleted their savings and retirement accounts and used every method they could possibly think of to try to find him. Still, he remained missing.

Four and a half years later, another boy from the same area as Shawn went missing. 13-year-old Ben Ownby, however, was spotted by a teenage neighbor when a man grabbed Ben and sped away in his truck.

The neighbor knew something was wrong immediately contacted the police. The police used the description of the vehicle and tracked down the owner within a short amount of time.

But when they found Ben, they made another startling discovery. It has been over four years since he went missing, but authorities also managed to find Shawn Hornbeck alive and well.
