The entertainment and music worlds often seem to revolve around sex and violence, so it’s rare to find any celebrity that is brave enough to go in a different direction and publicly praise God. That’s why it came as a welcome surprise when country music star Trace Adkins did just that!

The Christian film “I Can Only Imagine” came out in theaters this month, and it tells the story of MercyMe’s famous song. In just five days, the movie has brought in $17 million, and it is expected to be even more successful in the next few weeks. Clearly, Americans are in need of a good Christian movie right now!

The movie stars Adkins as Scott Brickell, the manager of MercyMe. The country music legend recently opened up in an interview about why he did the movie. In this same interview, he also sent a huge message to Christians that every believer needs to hear!

Adkins told CBN News that he was “blown away by the whole story,” and that he immediately wanted to do the film because it tells the story of hope and determination.

“That’s what Andy Erwin, one of the co-directors of the movie, told me. He said this is a story about redemption, and I said, ‘Sign me up. I could use a dose of it,'” Adkins explained.

This is a message that all Christians need to hear right now, because it reminds us God offers hope and redemption to all of us. No matter what mistakes we have made in life, it is never too late to go back to God because he will always offer us the chance to be redeemed!
