Michael Garland and Carol Constant have been dancing as a couple for decades. Although they are in their 60’s, you’d never know that by the way they move on the dance floor.
This lively couple calls themselves “Curly and Flash: A Blast from the Past” and they turn heads everywhere they go. Michael has appeared on American Band Stand and Soul Train and even worked as a choreographer for the television show Dallas.
His years as a choreographer shine through in their dance routine too. The routine starts off with Carol bending over with her hands between her legs, and with one quick move, Michael has her flying up into the air and flipping around with ease.
But the gymnastic-like moves don’t stop there. A few beats later, he has her flying across the floor in a graceful twirl that even some of the youngest dancers out there wouldn’t attempt.
The duo is performing to Bette Midler’s song “Mambo Italiano”, but their routine is anything but ordinary. Carol says if you viewed their routine from behind a screen, you’d believe that the dancers were in their 20’s and not their 60’s.
This duo has been a real-life couple for years and they don’t plan to put away their dancing shoes anytime soon. Check out their inspiring performance below and be sure to share it with your family and friends. You’ll understand why this couple is such a rarity.
