When Josh Groban wrote one of his songs, he knew it was meant to be a duet. The lyrics for the song “99 Years” were just two powerful for one voice, so he enlisted the help of country music superstar Jennifer Nettles.
Together the duo performed a song that was unbelievable. So much so, that Groban decided to release a special behind-the-scenes look at how the song came to be.
During the special, Groban revealed that his parents were a big source of inspiration behind the song. Their lifelong romance is something that Groban hopes to have in his own relationship when the time is right.
Groban says that his parents’ marriage is something that modern day society doesn’t understand. “My parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. I think my generation and younger wonder, ‘What are they thinking about, the future-future?'”
He believes that people now are too dead set on what they want right now. He says it’s a topsy turvy world we live in, and when he thinks about all that his parents have been through together it amazes him.
Hopefully Groban will find that same kind of love one day, but for now, we’ll just enjoy him being a superstar musician. Check out the video of the song below and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
