Parents of young children get used to hearing odd noises from all over their house. A parent never knows what scene they’re going to come upon when they walk into a room, as there’s no telling what mischief their child has gotten into!

The father in the video below was doing some chores around the house when he heard a strange sound coming from the master bedroom. It sounded like his son was making a wolf-like noise, but the dad could not put his finger on what he was doing.

As the dad walks down the hallway to investigate, he pulls out his phone to start recording.

“I don’t know what’s happening, but something’s happening,” he said.

When he opened the door, he came upon a very unexpected scene!

The father saw his son cuddling in bed with the family puppy. Since his son did not notice him standing in the doorway, the boy continued his conversation with the dog. He can be seen patting the puppy’s head and telling him what a good boy he is before throwing back his head and howling like a wolf!

The puppy responded by throwing back his own head and imitating the howl of the boy!

It became clear that the boy was teaching his puppy how to howl! Friend of the family Bree Lewis shared the video to social media, and it quickly went viral as people all over the world got a kick out of it. It’s clear this boy and his puppy will be friends for many years to come!
