The British royal family is known by people all over the world. However, depending on where a royal is on the line of succession, some royals get more press than others.

Since Prince William and Prince Harry were near the top of the line of succession when they were born, they have always gotten more attention than their cousins. Now, it’s been revealed that there was a a big difference between the way the two brothers were treated as well.

Royal expert Richard Kay just revealed that Princess Diana told him that while she loved both her sons, she “poured more love and attention into Harry.”

“As compensation, Diana poured more love and attention into Harry,” Kay recounted. “I have to. Charles and I worked so hard to ensure both boys receive equal amounts of our time and love, but others in the family seem to concentrate on William.”

Kay did not elaborate on who these “others” were, but he did talk about the moment Diana confronted Queen Elizabeth about her exhibiting favoritism between her two boys.

“Harry had complained that whenever he and William visited their great-grandmother at Clarence House, it was always William she made a fuss over and who sat next to her. ‘It’s not fair,’ Harry told his mother,” Kay said.

Harry recently opened up about the love he had for his mother, who tragically passed away in 1997.

“She never once allowed her unfaltering love for us to go unspoken or undemonstrative,” Harry recently said. “She will always be remembered for her amazing public work, but behind the media glare, to us, just two loving children, she was quite simply the best mother in the world.”

Diana would definitely be proud of the young men her boys have grown into!
