Sometimes, dogs have a difficult time adjusting when their owners bring home a newborn baby, as they can feel jealous of all the attention the little one gets. However, the dog in this video has no such feelings about the newborn that has been brought into his home!

The video opens with a mother filming her Shiba Inu staring at her newborn baby, who is fast asleep. The mother watched the two carefully, wondering how her dog would react to the infant. The dog proceeded to sniff the carseat, place his paw on the side of it, and gently rock the baby back and forth.

Though the mother was surprised by this, Dog Time explained that Shiba Inus are naturally good with children. They’re also very loyal and protective of their families.

“The Shiba Inu is a good family dog – he is loyal and devoted – and does well with children as long as he is properly socialized and trained, and the children treat him kindly and respectfully,” Dog Time said.

The site added that those who own Shibas should always have them on a leash and should give them an activity to expel excess energy. Doing this can help people to avoid dangerous accidents with a “zoomied” Shiba and a child.

It’s clear that this baby will be protected by this Shiba dog for many years to come! The baby is lucky to have such a caring figure watching over him!
