Pam Medina is a nurse at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital-Forest in Richmond, Virginia who spends her days helping others.

Pam was stunned one day when she walked into the hospital’s break room and came upon a fellow nurse name Sara looking through a box of donated baby clothes. When Pam asked Sara Putnam what she was doing, the woman explained exactly why she was digging through the clothes.

Sara said that she’d just obtained custody of her infant granddaughter, Isabella. The adoption happened so suddenly that Sara had no baby clothes and supplies for the child.

Pam was touched by this, and she decided she needed to help her fellow nurse. Sara had no idea that when Pam went home that night, she took to social media to post a heartfelt plea to other mothers in the area, asking for their help.

“I explained her sudden need and that she was a hard-working woman,” Pam said. “The response was overwhelming.”

The post quickly went viral, and even Pam was stunned by the number of responses that she got! Days later, she drove to the hospital to give Sara a surprise that she never saw coming. Both Sara and Pam broke down in tears as soon as the surprise was revealed!

“Oh my God! What have you done?” Sara asked as she started to cry. “Thank you everybody!”

Pam was also touched by the outpouring of support.

“I just sobbed. I just cried,” Pam said. “I am still overwhelmed by the response of folks who did not know me and did not know her. It makes me get really emotional now. It’s not me. It’s the people who responded.”
