For teenagers, asking someone to homecoming or prom can be very scary. While there are many great prom proposals that result in an emphatic yes, there are others that end with brutal rejection.
Sophomore Drake Nelson was not the most popular guy at his school in Gray, Louisiana. Despite this, he managed to muster up the courage to ask the girl he had a crush on to his school’s homecoming dance. Wanting to be romantic, he made a huge poster asking her to prom and stood in the hallway of his school holding it in front of all his classmates.
He was completely blindsided and humiliated when she said no.
His classmates laughed at Drake when he was rejected, which made the situation even worse.

“It was actually a pretty tough moment standing in a small circle with that one shake of the head and you just got to find your way out of that circle,” Drake recalled.
Things got even more bad for Drake when he learned that his proposal had been captured on camera and shared online, where it was viewed thousands of times. Drake was so embarrassed that he stayed home from school the next few days. When he finally returned, he had no idea that some kind-hearted classmates had a big surprise for him.

A group of girls were unhappy with what happened to Drake, so 13 of them came together to each individually ask him to homecoming. Drake was stunned when he saw the girls holding a sign and flowers for him in the hallway. After his rejection, he ended up taking 13 girls to prom!
I think it’s safe to say that Drake scored the last laugh on this one!
