When Ben Belnap and his wife Jackee were given season football tickets by his parents, they decided to pay them back with whatever money they could. That’s why they started stashing away cash and putting it in an envelope at their home in Holladay, Utah.

When they had finally saved enough money, Ben and Jackee realized that they could not find the envelope, which had $1,060 inside it at that point. Ben and Jackee frantically looked all over their house, searching absolutely everywhere. No matter where they looked, they could not find the money.

Finally, Jackee took a look inside the paper shredder. To her horror, inside the machine were the remnants of the cash! Ben and Jackee realized that their two year-old son Leo was the person who had shredded their cash.

Ben and Jackee were devastated, and Jackee could not help but burst into tears. They had spent so much time saving that money, and now it was just gone. However, they were then able to see the situation in a different light.

“As devastated and as sick as we were,” she said, “this was one of those moments where you just have to laugh.”

Needless to say, Leo will no longer be allowed to use the shredder.

“Well, this will make a great wedding story one day,” Jackee said.
