Identical twins Jalynne Crawford and Janelle Leopoldo were both struggling to deal with their respective miscarriages, so they were ecstatic when they became pregnant with baby boys within four days of each other last year. On July 18, Jalynne and Janelle welcomed their boys within a few hours of each other at the same hospital, with even the same doctor delivering both babies!

Though Jalynne lives in Arizona and Janelle lives in California, their doctors said that they could schedule their C-sections for the same day since they became pregnant at virtually the same time, assuming they did not go into labor early.

“Our parents never missed a grandchild birth and this was number 10 and 11, and so we wanted to keep that special tradition alive for us and them,” Jalynne said. “We both made it to 39 weeks [and] the deliveries went well for both of us.”

Jalynne gave birth to a baby boy named Bryson Ryder at 1:29 P.M., while her sister gave birth to baby Jace Alan at 4:07 P.M.

The sisters decided that Jalynne should give birth first because she was born two minutes before her sister, sand he was four days ahead of her sister (pregnancy-wise). On top of that, Jalynne’s husband (San Francisco Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford) only gets three days paternity leave because of his baseball schedule.

“After I delivered, I was in the recovery room,” Jalynne said. “When Janelle delivered, they wheeled her back to the OR, [but] immediately following her birth they wheeled our beds next to each other so we could see one another and our babies. This was a day she and I will never forget.”

The twins were put in the same hospital room as they recovered from their C-sections.

“During our stay, as soon as we could stand up following surgery, we were in each other’s rooms constantly sharing the experience together,” Jalynne said. “It was so special to be able to be there with my twin and nephew for their birth at the same time as mine. This is my last baby and he completed our family.”

We’re so glad that these twins got the babies that they always dreamed of!
