With all of the negativity in the world today, it is easy to forget that there are still good, Christian people out there. That’s what makes this story so heartwarming and powerful!

A couple who rent an apartment together recently posted a letter from their landlords to the social media site Reddit that has since gone viral. In the letter, the landlords stunned their tenants by offering them a free month of rent in November to celebrate the apartment building’s 50th anniversary!

“Our landlords slipped this letter under our door this afternoon,” the couple captioned the post.

“As you may or may not have figured out, (blank) and I are followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ and we try to live by the principals taught in the Bible,” the letter begins. “We believe Jesus is the son of God, and that he sacrificed himself in order to save us from eternal separation from God. The Bible reveals the character and love of God and also contains many useful instructions on how to have an abundant life.”

The letter goes on to say that this year marks the 50th anniversary, and that the Bible describes the 50th year as a year of “Jubilee,” which means celebration.

“While we can’t completely ‘forgive’ all debts owed to us by our tenants, we have decided to give you all the month of NOVEMBER 2018 RENT FREE, if you want to accept that offer, as a way of celebrating this milestone year,” the letter said. “The releasing of debt in the Old Testament was a foretaste of the releasing of debts for all sinners who accept that forgiveness, because Jesus died on the cross and paid the ultimate price for our sins. We believe this with all our hearts and are thankful for that forgiveness each and every day.”
