Chip and Joanna Gaines have never been afraid to be open about their strong Christian faith. That’s why it should come as no surprise that they have just announced that they have invited the Church Under The Bridge to host its Sunday service on the lawn of the Magnolia Market at the Silos.

This church usually hosts it’s service, which is attended by 200-300 people, under an overpass of Interstate 35. However, in March of next year, I-35 will be undergoing an expansion, leaving the church without a place to host their services. When Chip and Joanna heard this, they knew they had to do something!

The Gaines called up pastor Jimmy Dorrell and offered him and his congregation the chance to use one of their properties to hold their services for a year. Their Magnolia Market is not far from the interstate, so it makes sense for the congregation to move things over there. Jimmy has also been a longtime friend of Chip and Joanna.

“I know some of the people over at Magnolia. Way back, before she was a star on TV, Joanna Gaines would model in our style show, which was a fundraiser,” he said.

Here’s the idyllic place where they will be holding their services:

Chip explained that they didn’t have to think very hard before making this offer to Jimmy.

“[A]bout a month ago, I read about how the I-35 project would impact his church,” Chip said. “I was sitting in my office one day, day-dreaming, thinking about making a commitment, and we reached out to Jimmy. He came over to the Silos, and we agreed it would make a great fit geographically. We said, ‘Let’s do it,’ and shook hands on it. I trust him because he does what he says he’s going to do.”

God bless the Gaines family for helping out this congregation!
