Legendary comedian Carol Burnett is traveling to Winnipeg, Canada this week to participate in a Q&A session with fans. The star is likely not aware that her former car has actually been in the Canadian city for years!

Roberta So is a Carol Burnett super fan who has owned the comedian’s 1974 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC for years ever since her husband bought it at an auction in Venice, California. She has been having a blast ever since she got the car, even presenting it at the 2014 World of Wheels car show dressed up as Burnett’s famous charwoman character from “The Carol Burnett Show.”

Roberta’s husband, who tragically passed away three months ago, was an avid car collector during his lifetime. She was not in favor of him adding yet another car to his collection until she learned that his latest find was a Mercedes that had belonged to Burnett!

“He knew I was a monster fan,” she said. “She was always funny and always clean. You could let the children watch.”

“The Carol Burnett Show” ran from 1967-1978, and it was known for sketches that were both hilarious and family friendly.

A few years ago, Roberta decided to contact Burnett to let her know that her former car was safe and sound. When she learned that Burnett was no longer granting interviews, she sent a self-addressed stamped envelope. Roberta was stunned when she received a response weeks later from Burnett, who signed the photo that was sent to her, “To Roberta, Love Carol (Burnett).”

Needless to say, Roberta is planning to attend Burnett’s Q&A in Winnipeg! It remains to be seen if the comedian will have the chance to be reunited with her Mercedes afterwards!
