It’s been two years since these four little girls were fighting for their lives against cancer. McKinley, Chloe, Ava, and Lauren were just four and five-years-old at the time. They met each other at John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Ava, Lauren, and McKinley had acute lymphoblastic leukemia and Chloe had a rare form of lung cancer. With their little heads bald from chemotherapy, the girls quickly formed a bond. Not only did the girls become friends, but so did their mothers.
Ava’s mom, Alyssa Luciano, says it was always a breath of fresh air to see a familiar face and know that she wasn’t in the fight alone. So now just two years later, the gang is all together again, but for a very different reason.

All four girls have achieved remission and they decided a celebration was in order. They gathered at the hospital that saved their lives to meet with the doctors, nurses, and other staff who helped them through those hard months of treatment.
A photographer was on hand to capture photos of the now healthy girls and they all look terrific! Now the girls are looking forward to kindergarten and have their whole lives ahead of them.

They plan to make a yearly reunion a tradition to continue the friendships that they formed. Their beautiful smiles are a reminder that everything in life is easier to handle when you have a good friend to share it with.
