Vanna White has been cohosting “Wheel of Fortune” since December 13, 1982. Many would think that after 35 years and 6,500 dresses, Vanna would be tired of her job, but this is not the case at all!

“I get all dressed up like a Barbie doll. I go out. I give someone else’s money away, make them happy, and we all go home,” said White, 60. “In show business, no, there’s nothing else I want to do. Is that bad?”

As Pat Sajack and Vanna are celebrating the show’s 35th season, they are opening up about how much the show means to them. The duo host six shows a day just four days a month.

“Somewhere along the line, we became more than a popular show. We became part of the popular culture,” Pat said.

Vanna in particular has become a staple in pop culture, and even is in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most frequent clapper ever!

“They say I have clapped more than 3.9 million times,” said Vanna, who added that Merriam-Webster is even considering adding “Vanna White” as a verb to its dictionary.

“To Vanna White means to present,” Vanna explained.

Vanna and Pat both can’t believe that they’ve stayed on television all these years.

“You know, I have no clue [how] and I’ve given up trying to figure out why. We’re playing hangman on TV is what we’re doing,” said Pat.

Vanna has never worn the same dress twice on the show, and she tries on at least 50 dresses in a day before picking her outfits for the show. Between tapings, she has just ten minutes to change from one gown to another.

“I like wearing the short ones best,” Vanna admitted of her dress preferences. “Just because I don’t trip.”

Vanna makes a reported $4 million a year, and she’s signed on for at least three more seasons of “Wheel of Fortune.”

“I’m a businesswoman. You know, I have other investments too, real estate,” Vanna explained. “A long time ago, I would buy a house and flip it. But now everybody does that so I don’t do that anymore because there’s no houses out there to buy.”

Pat explained that Vanna has never been one to take her job so seriously.

“If you say to Vanna, ‘What do you do for a living?’ She won’t say, ‘Well, I’m a facilitator, and I hope to one day direct it.’ She goes, ‘You know, I touch a letter and they light up,’” Pat said.

Though in the past some have seen Vanna’s role as not the most feminist job in the world, she believes she more than holds her own on the program.

“I don’t think people look at it that way anymore. They think of me and Pat as a team, as a couple that put on a good show,” Vanna said. “I’ll be the first to make fun of what I do, absolutely. Because it’s a crazy job, but I love my job, and it’s great. And I think it brings a lot of happiness to people.”

We can’t wait to see Vanna on “Wheel of Fortune” for many years to come!
