If your faith in humanity seems to be dwindling down to nothing, then this story is just what you need. It involved two amazing zookeepers who jump in to rescue a just born baby zebra.

The baby had just been born at the Valencia Bioparc in eastern Spain. It started to take its first steps as a new born when it took a terrible stumble. The mother zebra, La Nina, was monitored through her labor, but things took a turn for the worst as soon as the umbilical cord was cut.

The baby zebra stood up and began to stumble. He then fell into the watering hole, got stuck, and began to drown. In the video, you can see how distressed the new mother is as she looks on in horror at her drowning offspring.

Luckily, she didn’t have to worry too long as two brave zookeepers quickly jumped to the rescue. Without hesitation, they plunge into the water and wade towards the baby.

The mother seemed very protective as the men grab her baby, but she quickly backs off when she realized they were helping her newborn. The duo manage to carry the tiny creature safety to shore and to its mother.
