When it comes time to adopt a dog, it’s always a good idea to do research so that you can find the best breed for your family.

While German Shepherds make for great police dogs, they actually are not good dogs for families. These dogs can be vicious, disobedient, and too rough to have around your children. If you are thinking about getting a German Shepherd for your family, you should DEFINITELY reconsider. Like…seriously reconsider.

Here are some ‘reasons’ why German Shepherds are the last dogs you should get for your family:

German Shepherds are too straight laced for a wacky family.

German Shepherds are a VERY uptight breed, and they rarely know how to let loose. As you can see from the photo above, this dog has no idea how to have fun!

They eat everything

German Shepherds will not only eat all your food, they’ll also eat your clothes, shoes, toys, or cushions. By the time they are through, there will barely be anything left for the family to eat!

They never look happy

German Shepherds are incredibly stern dogs. They typically either look miserable or angry, and they never smile!

They don’t get along with other dogs

German Shepherds are loners who can’t stand other breeds. If you are hoping they’ll make friends with other dogs, think again!

They are dangerous around children.

German Shepherds should not be around children, especially babies. These dogs are downright vicious and a huge safety hazard!

They’re downright bizarre.

What the heck is this guy doing?! German Shepherds are just plain weird!

They hate cuddling.

Good luck trying to cuddle with German Shepherds! They’ll resist as much as they can.

They wreak havoc when they’re together.

Once German Shepherds get together, they turn into a pack of wild animals!
