Burt Reynolds death has taken the world by storm. He passed away last week at the age of 82 and fans and friends from all over have mourned his loss. He was a larger-than-life celebrity and an inspiration to millions.
While celebrities are among some of the people that have come forward with statements wishing him peace, none were as moving as the public mourning of his on-again-off-again girlfriend, Sally Field.
Several of Hollywood’s top celebs including Dolly Parton and Arnold Schwarzenegger shared their grief too. Schwarzenegger called Reynolds a “hero” and “trailblazer.” Parton said she will always remember his funny laugh and the mischievous sparkle in his eyes.

Sylvester Stallone shared a memory upon Reynolds passing as well. He said, “He always reminded me that I should’ve cast him as Colonel Trautman in First Blood. I said that’s impossible because you’re too expensive and too famous, and probably tougher than Rambo!”
Even though plenty of celebs shared their remarks on Reynolds passing it was Sally Field’s words that caught everyone’s attention. Reynolds admitted years ago in an interview that Sally was the love of his life.
The two had met while filming the 1977 hit movie Smokey and the Bandit and it wasn’t long after that the two became an item. The couple split in 1982, but Reynolds blamed himself for the downfall.

Reynolds held on to his regret and guilt for over 40 years and never knew Sally felt the same way. But when he died, Sally released a statement proving that her feelings were the same.
“There are times in your life that are so indelible they never fade away. They stay alive, even forty years later,” she said. “My years with Burt never leave my mind. He will be in my history and my heart for as long as I live. Rest, Buddy.”

Burt and Sally’s love for one another is proof that our past relationships teach us things about ourselves and help us grow, even if they don’t work out in the end. Check out the video below about Sally and Burt and be sure to share it with your friends.
