When Lost Creek Country Club superintendent Craig Loving showed up for work one day in March, he never expected that he would be called upon to rescue an owl!

Craig had just gotten to work when he was told that a great horned owl was tangled in some waste fishing line near the first tee, and he immediately took action. The owl had spent all night stuck in the fishing line, and though it had tried everything to get itself free, nothing was working. By the time Craig reached the owl, it had stopped moving and was seemingly resigned to it’s fate.

The viral video below opens with Craig approaching the owl, and he tries to let the creature know that he’s there to help. Watch as Craig cuts the line and untangles the owl, setting him free!

“A little intimidating, especially when his beak started snapping at me, but it was cool, it was definitely very cool,” Craig said in the video.

Even Craig’s mother was impressed by what her son did when she saw the video!

“I’m so proud of you son. It’s a great video and job well done. Mom,” she commented.

We want to applaud Craig for doing everything he could to save this animal! The Lost Creek Country Club is lucky to have such an amazing superintendent!

Check out the rescue in the video below!
