Last week, legendary Queen singer Freddie Mercury would have turned 72. Though millions of fans all over the world know and love him as the frontman of Queen, many don’t know that he actually previously worked at London Heathrow Airport as a British Airways baggage handler.

Sadly, Mercury passed away in 1991, but he has not been forgotten in the years since then. To celebrate this legend’s birthday, British Airways decided to pay tribute to him in a beautiful way.

Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania, and he grew up in India before moving to Middlesex, England. There, he got a job as a baggage handler for British Airways at Heathrow Airport to earn money until his music career took off.

British Airways has never forgotten about their former employee!

To honor Mercury, British Airways organized a flash mob performance of “I Want To Break Free.” The video below this story shows a group of British Airways baggage handlers performing some of the iconic dance moves from the Queen hit. They went so far as to even recreate the hoover dance at the start of the song with suitcases!

Baggage Manager Adam Dewey, who took part in the performance, said that he is a huge Queen fan.

“Freddie Mercury is an undisputed rock legend and it has been an absolute blast planning his birthday celebrations at Heathrow Airport, where he once worked,” Adam said. “Myself and the other baggage handlers taking part have put everything into these dance routines and we can’t wait to see the faces on holidaymakers when they strut their stuff in the arrivals hall.”

Check out the amazing performance for yourself in the video below!
