Parker Brown is a little boy who is full of energy and loves to make friends. Unlike most other children, however, Parker has already had to overcome an enormous obstacle.
Parker was just five weeks old when he was diagnosed with Norrie Disease, which causes him to suffer from congenital blindness. Sadly, he also is at a high risk of losing his hearing in the future.
Most parents would be devastated about their child receiving this diagnosis, but Felisha and Matt Brown decided to be hopeful.
Parker started speech therapy in December of 2013 at The Therapy S.P.O.T. in Statesboro, Georgia. This facility provides speech, physical, and occupational therapy to families in a “fun, family and child centered environment,” the organization’s website reads.
“Parker demonstrated early on that he is a very smart, determined and fearless child that is eager to learn and explore all that he can and lets nothing stand in his way,” a Therapy S.P.O.T. blog stated.
The blog went on to say that Parker currently goes to a mainstream school and that he “enjoys every single minute of it!”
Back in June, Felisha posted a video of Parker to Facebook that has quickly gone viral!
“Parker is still inspiring people!!!” she wrote on Facebook on June 11. “I spent the morning reading all of the new comments on his video… Amazingly beautiful…”
In the video below, you’ll see Parker belt out the song “How Great Thou Art” at the top of his lungs.
Over six million people have watched the video!
“…moments like this one remind me that everything is going to be okay…” Felisha wrote in the video caption. “…He is happy… and I can be too…”
