Flying can be stressful for anyone, but especially if you are traveling with little ones who can get fussy without any apparent reason. Molly Schultz experienced that first hand.

She was already weighed down with grief. Her father’s prognosis wasn’t good and she was flying home to be by his side and tell him goodbye. She said goodbye to her two daughters, ages three and two, and left them with their father, but took along her seven-month-old twins.

The trio had already enduring a lengthy layover in Minnesota after flying from Washington state. During the next leg of the flight, the girls had had enough. Their tears eventually caused Molly to break down too and the trip seemed to be a nightmare.

Molly says she knew her fellow passengers were tired of listening to her daughters’ wailing, but she couldn’t get them to calm down. She says everyone had every right to be annoyed and angry with her.

She says she knew they were hungry and wanted to nurse but she didn’t feel comfortable doing it without a nursing pillow, especially on a crowded flight. She had packed bottles filled with her milk, but was too frazzled to think straight. That’s when a stranger approached her.

Instead of being angry with her, the guardian angel plopped down next to Molly, took one of the babies, and began rocking her. The stranger quieted her with some milk and much needed cuddles.

Molly says the woman knew exactly what she needed when she was too afraid to ask. The woman showed her the most empathy she’d ever been shown in what was her darkest hour. Molly couldn’t believe the woman stepped in and loved them like family when they needed it the most.

The mother of four gives the stranger credit for saving her sanity, as well as everyone else on the flight. She says looking back, taking the twins with her when she was so emotionally fragile wasn’t the best idea.

Although Molly doesn’t know the woman’s name, she says she will never forget the kindness and empathy that she showed her and her daughters in such a difficult time.

She wants to thank the stranger for treating her with dignity and love when she needed it the most. What a blessing the woman was! Be sure to share this story with your family and friends in hopes that it reaches Molly’s guardian angel and she gets the thanks she deserves.
