A hilarious video is going viral this week showing a brown bear who can’t seem to stop twerking to scratch his itch against a tree.

The video, which was filmed by Andy Williams, shows the bear stand on his hind legs as he drags himself up and down against the tree. He then falls on his four paws, rubbing his rear end on the bark as he tried to reach the itch.

Williams, who is a photographer from New York City, captured the video during a visit to British Columbia in Canada last month.

“I’d had an incredibly fun [sic] spending a week with the bears, in a place where the bears hold citizenship,” he said. “He walked up towards us, and stood up at the tree and began scratching himself! It was thrilling and amusing.”

It’s very common to spot bears in British Columbia, where grizzly bears, black bears, and rare Kermode or “Spirit” bears reside. Experts say that British Columbia is home to around half of Canada’s grizzly bear population.

We certainly hope that the twerking ended up relieving the bear of this devilish itch! We can only imagine how annoying dealing with an itch like this would be for a bear who can’t reach the area to scratch it with his paw.

Videos like this are a fun reminder that animals deal with the same issues that humans do. We’ve all been in the same spot as this bear and had to come up with a unique way to scratch an itch!
