A jeweler who sells a rare Welsh gold has been able to open four new stores thanks to the spring demand for Meghan Markle’s wedding ring.

Around thirty new jobs have been created at Clogau Gold jewellery stores Wales and Merseyside due to what is being called the Markle-effect. Meghan’s wedding ring includes gold from the Clogau mine in North Wales, a royal tradition that has been going on for 95 years.

The Queen Mother was the first royal bride to wear a Clogau ring back in 1923.

The jeweler is opening new stores in Llandudno, Bangor, Swansea and a new larger site for its outlet at Cheshire Oaks retail park at Ellesmere Port.

Up to thirty new jobs are being created in the jewellers after the Markle-effect helped their sales to shine

“It’s nice to have an association with the modern royal family and to see them carrying on the tradition,” a spokeswoman for the jeweler said. “With the UK High Street facing tough trading times, Clogau’s expansion brings a much needed boost to the local economies where the new stores will be located. Twenty to thirty new jobs will be created and the brand will engage with other local businesses to make the most of the commercial opportunities.”

People all over the world tuned in to watch Meghan’s fairy tale wedding to Prince Harry back in May. Given how gorgeous and elegant she looked, it’s no wonder that so many people are interested in getting a ring like hers! Hopefully, the ring will bring others the same luck that it has brought to Meghan!
