Millions of young women dream of the day that they can one day become mothers. For some women, the process of getting pregnant is an easy one, but it is far more difficult for others.

Aimee Morrisby is one young wife who knows of these difficulties all too well.

Aimee has wanted to be a mother ever since she was a young girl. Sadly, as a child, she suffered from a bowel disease left behind scar tissue in her abdomen. It wasn’t until she was 21 that she learned just how bad this damage was. She was devastated to learn from doctors that she would likely suffer complications with her uterus one day if she ever tried to conceive.

After marrying her husband Jake, Aimee spent five long years trying to get pregnant. They did everything they could and numerous IVF treatments resulted in Aimee having four miscarriages in five years. A digestive specialist examined Aimee and confirmed that her abdomen just looked like a ball of scar tissue remains from her disease, and IVF doctors said that her reproductive system was probably compromised.

After five years of trying, Aimee realized her dreams of motherhood might never come true, and she had an emotional conversation with her sister, Shayna, who wanted to comfort her sister as best she could. A few nights later, Shayna called Aimee and said four words that would change her life forever: “Let’s have a baby.”

Shayna was already a mother of two, but she wanted to help Aimee and Jake have a child of their own. Not long after their conversation, Shayna was impregnated with one of Aimee’s embryos from her IVF treatments.

Aimee went to every sonogram with Shayna for the next nine months, and they decided to have a water birth. Finally, it came time for Shayna to deliver the baby!

The baby girl was completely healthy, and Aimee even got to cut the cord!

Aimee and Jake named the girl Francesca Louise Morrisby, and they could not be more grateful to Shayna for giving them this incredible gift!

Aimee now has one piece of advice for other mothers who are having trouble getting pregnant.

“My biggest advice to mothers that are pushing themselves to the brink is that it is OK to stop trying in your own body,” she said. “At the end of the day there is no way my own daughter would be as happy and healthy if I had given birth to her.”
