Princess Eugenie is preparing to marry Jack Brooksbank on October 12 in what is set to be the second royal wedding of the year, and the bill makes it clear that it will be far from a cheap affair!

The cost of security alone for Eugenie’s wedding has just doubled to $3.5 million over fears of a terror attack. The ceremony is due to take place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Though royal experts initially guessed that the wedding would cost between $650,000 and $1.3 million, those numbers have increased dramatically due to the new security fears. The security is now expected to be on par with the measures that were taken in Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in May. Their wedding cost a staggering $46 million.

“The Duke of York has insisted his daughter’s wedding must be a huge occasion to be remembered and wants everyone to get on board to celebrate the happy couple,” said a royal source, adding that Prince Andrew wants his daughter’s wedding to be similar to Harry’s in terms of pageantry and pomp. Eugenie and Jack would even like to take an open-top carriage procession along Windsor High Street, just as Harry and Meghan did.

Though the guest list has been kept secret, it is believed to include celebrities like George and Amal Clooney, Cara Delevingne, actor Suki Waterhouse and supermodels Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford. Queen Elizabeth will be in attendance at her granddaughter’s wedding, as will the rest of the royal household.

“Costs for security will be shared by individual police forces and the local council but all other costs for the wedding will be met privately,” said a royal spokesman.
