An incredible video is going viral this week showing a clever monkey who is “fascinated” by mechanics help his owner fix his car.

The 10 year-old monkey, whose name is Twitch, can be seen doing his best to be the perfect mechanic as he picks up screws on bolts and fits them into holes on the car’s wheels. Darrell Reid, 57, of Electra, Texas adopted Twitch back in 2008 when the monkey was just a few weeks old.

“Twitch always watches me doing mechanics and it fascinates him,” Darrell said. “Ever since we got him as a baby, he’s always loved playing with mechanical parts. Myself and my family go to drag race meets every week so there’s always work to be done on the cars. Twitch will try to screw bolts back on and loves being a part of the team.”

Darrell, who lets Twitch run around the house freely, said the animal is beloved by his community.

“It’s unusual to have a pet monkey and people love him,” he said. “He’s a great character and I love having him around the house.”

Darrell also owns an 11 year-old monkey named Dinky, who he says is Twitch’s “playmate.” When Twitch isn’t fixing cars, his owner said that he loves relaxing as he watches his favorite television shows.

“He loves watching Dr Phil and Judge Judy on TV,” Darrell said of Twitch. “He’s a great character and I couldn’t imagine life without him.”
