A Chinese nurse is being applauded as a hero after she saved the life of an elderly woman while she was still wearing her wedding dress.
Xie Dan was on her way to have her wedding photos taken last Saturday when she witnessed a traffic accident and immediately rushed to take action when she saw an elderly woman was hurt.
“I only did what I should have done,” Xie said.
The incident took place in north-east China’s Dalian city where an elderly woman, who was in her 70s, was knocked off her tricycle by a car, leaving her with serious head injuries. Sadly, she later died of her injuries in the hospital.
Xie is a nurse at the Wafangdian Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and she quietly left the scene after EMTs arrived. She had told a witness that she would have felt guilty had she not stopped to help the elderly woman.
Social media users have been hailing Xie as a hero and sending her their well wishes.
“She is the prettiest bride,” one user wrote, another adding, “She has a beautiful face and an even more beautiful heart. I wish her happiness for the rest of her life.’
“Her charity would be rewarded,” a third user said.
While we’re saddened that the elderly woman ended up passing away, it’s nice to see that there are still good people in the world like the nurse who rushed to her aid! SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
