In the secular world of Hollywood, it’s rare to find any actor who is brave enough to open up about their Christian faith. That’s what made it so powerful when star Chris Pratt did just that while accepting an award at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this summer!

Pratt defiantly told his young audience to “love God,” explaining that Christianity is his “thing.”

“I’m so thrilled to be here, I have not been a teen for quite some time,” said the beloved star of action films like Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy. “This means a lot to me.”

“I want to thank God,” he shouted. “I always do that when I’m up on a platform in front of a bunch of young faces. “I love God, that’s my thing, I love him! And you should too!”

This isn’t the first time Pratt has opened up about his faith. While accepting the Generation Award at the MTV Movie and TV Awards, Pratt also urged his young audience to find God.

“God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do,” Pratt said to a sustained round of applause.

“Learn to pray. It’s easy and it’s so good for your soul,” he later added.

The youths who watch these awards shows are young and impressionable, and much of the things they see during these programs are rarely appropriate. That’s what makes it so amazing that Pratt is using these opportunities to spread the word of God to the young fans who look up to him!
