Ricky Smith is a 36 year-old father from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who works three jobs to support his family. Despite the fact that Ricky has to work incredibly hard just to make ends meet, he still found a way to make his teenage daughter’s dream come true in a video that has since gone viral.

Nevaeha Smith, 14, just graduated from Ringgold Middle School, and she found the perfect dress to wear to her graduation dress. The problem was that the dress cost $200, so Nevaeha had to ask her parents if she could get it.

“I said, ‘Mom, dad, I want this dress,'” said Nevaeha. “Is it in our price range?”

Ricky was torn, since he balances shifts at McDonald’s, Popeye’s and the Circle K convenience store just to provide for his family.

“I looked at the price and I was like, ‘Uh, not really sure, but I can see what I can do,'” said Ricky.

Though no promises were made, Ricky was determined to make Nevaeha’s dream a reality. He was already working six to seven days a week, but he pushed harder and started taking extra shifts. Finally, he was able to buy the two-piece floral dress that his daughter wanted.

When Ricky told Nevaeha’s mother Kelly Anne, she had an idea as to how their daughter should be told.

“She said, ‘Why don’t you surprise her?'” said Ricky. He then invited Nevaeha to his job to give her the surprise as Kelly Anne filmed them.

“I was working at McDonald’s that day and I put the dress in the back,” Ricky said. “She came and I brought it out and told her that her grandmother bought it for her and I told her, ‘This ain’t the dress you wanted, but I hope you like it.'”

Nevaeha was disappointed to hear this.

“I was thinking, ‘This is going to be an old lady dress,'” said Nevaeha.

The teenager was stunned when she saw it was the dress that she had wanted!

“To see the look on her face it was priceless,” said Ricky. “All I can really do was smile.”

“My heart felt like there was more love in it than there was before,” said Neveah. “I love him and I’m really happy that’s he’s my father.”
