Dogs are known for being loving and friendly, but they can also be very unpredictable creatures. Though they are frequently dubbed “man’s best friend,” they can sometimes be very mysterious. One family in Austin, Texas has a particularly mischievous dog on their hands in the form of their 5 year-old Golden Retriever, Huckleberry.

While most dogs love running around chasing balls, Huckleberry likes to climb onto the roof of his family’s home!

Huckleberry goes on the roof so often that his family is constantly getting visits from frantic neighbors warning them about what their dog is doing.

The family has gotten so many calls about Huckleberry that they decided to create a sign that explains his silly antics. The sign begins by saying “DON’T BE ALARMED!!!” in big bold letters.

“Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball!” the sign continues. “We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door… we know he’s up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world! #hucktheroofdog.”

Justin and Allie Lindemuth, Huckleberry’s owners, say he has been climbing on the roof ever since he was nine months old.

“All of a sudden, I hear this like thunder coming. And I’m like ‘what the heck is that? Is that a raccoon on my roof?’” Allie recalled.

She went on to say that Huckleberry heads up to the roof almost every morning.

“We call his time up there his ‘roof time.’ It’s kind of like his morning coffee,” Allie explained.

How cute is that?!
