One of the favorite places for teens to hang out in the summer when it gets too hot to be outside seems to be the mall. That is where one Compton, California teen was headed when he stopped to do something that shocked onlookers.
The teen was headed into the mall to hang out with his friends when saw a woman struggling to get across the busy mall parking lot. Without worrying what his friends would think, 13-year-old Dashawn stopped what he was doing and went to help the woman.
Maria Lopez watched her stepson carry out the act of kindness then shared it with the Love What Matters Facebook page. She wrote, “I dropped our son off at the mall today, and I catch this as I’m leaving. To say we are proud of the young man he is turning into is an understatement. A lady even stopped and complimented him with tears in her eyes.”

What people don’t know is Dashawn’s father passed away when he was a baby and he has been raised by an amazing village of people including his mother, grandmother and grandfather.
Maria says that from the time she met Dashawn, he was always a very kind-hearted and special child. Always doing anything he could to help the less fortunate, and always without being prompted. Needless to say, his family is very proud of him.

It’s clear to see that this young man is going to grow up to be a caring and considerate adult. Check out the video below of another teen exhibiting an act of kindness and be sure to share this story with your family and friends.
