Many star athletes use their fame to fill their own pockets and fund their extravagant lifestyles. That’s why it’s so refreshing that New Orleans Saints tight end Benjamin Watson is going a completely different route, using his fame and resources to save babies!

Watson and his wife just gave a huge gift to the Maryland’s Severna Park Pregnancy Clinic in the form of a brand new “state-of-the-art 3D/4D ultrasound machine.”

Watson made the gift through the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission and Focus on the Family’s Option Ultrasound Program. In return for the gift, the NFL and his wife only asked for a tour of a pregnancy clinic serving primarily women at risk for abortion from the Baltimore area.

The tour was led by Pregnancy Clinic Ministries’ CEO Pamela Palumbo, who explained that three clinics in the area defend life against Maryland’s completely unrestricted abortion industry. The women are given ultrasounds so that they can see the baby that is growing inside them, causing many of them to have second thoughts about getting an abortion.

Ironically, the clinic used to be an abortion clinic, but it has been the Severna Park Pregnancy Clinic since 2005. Many women still come there thinking it is an abortion clinic, only to find the life-affirming clinic welcoming them in its place.

We definitely need more selfless NFL stars like Watson who are willing to get political for the right reasons! God bless him for doing this much to help the unborn!
