Few things are more horrifying to see than a dog being abused. That’s why passengers on this train immediately took action when they witnessed a woman brutally abusing her dog right in front of them.

The video below was filmed on a Toronto train on August 4, 2017, and it shows a woman repeatedly biting and hitting her small dog, pulling his hair as well. Passenger Roxy Huang was so disgusted by what she was seeing that she whipped out her phone to record it.

Finally, her fellow passengers could not take it anymore, so one man approached the woman telling her to stop while another went to alert staffers about what was happening. When the train stopped moments later, three staff members walked up to the woman and kicked her off the train.

Though police were called to St. George Station, all they could do was issue a warning, since the dog had no physical injuries. However, you’ll be happy to know that the abusive woman did not end up getting away with this.

After the video went viral, it was brought to the attention of the Ontario SPCA, who immediately tracked down the 37 year-old woman and arrested her. Thanks to the video evidence, they were able to obtain a search warrant to gather more evidence, and they were eventually able to remove the dog from her custody.

Police say that the woman has been charged with one count of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal under the Criminal Code of Canada and one count of causing distress to an animal under the Ontario SPCA Act. The Chinese Crested Dog has made a full recovery and has been looked after since then!
