Ebony Harris was working at Walmart in Burton, Michigan, and as she was taking her lunch break last week, she saw a woman at the nail salon get refused for services due to her disability.
Not wanting the woman to miss out on having her nails done, Harris approached Angela Peters and offered to paint the woman’s nails herself. Peters suffers from cerebral palsy and the salon had refused to give her a manicure because her condition makes her shake.
Peters was shocked, but allowed Harris to help her. They picked out the perfect polish and sat down at the Subway restaurant inside the store and Harris spent her lunch break painting Peters’ nails.

“I just wanted to make her day special. I didn’t really want her day to be ruined,” says Harris. “That’s why I did it. And plus she’s a sweetie.” Tasia Smith who works at the Subway snapped a photo of the exchange and shared it on Facebook where it’s been shared thousands of times.
Some people on social media have even said they want to boycott the nail salon for what they did, but Harris says she doesn’t want her labor of love to alienate the salon workers. She just wanted them to realize that everyone deserves the same amount of love and attention no matter their disabilities.

Peters and Harris have actually become friends since the encounter and have made plans to get together and have dinner in the near future. “Maybe spread awareness that no matter the person, who they are, what color they are, disability, whatever, they’re people too.”
What an amazing act of kindness. Be sure to share this heartwarming story with your family and friends and help Harris spread her message to everyone.
