Homelessness is everywhere in America. There are thousands of people that don’t know where their next meal will come from, so when some Little Caesar’s pizza employees realized what was happening outside their restaurant, they decided to step in.

They discovered that a homeless man had been rummaging through their garbage looking for food each night after they locked up. Instead of kicking him off the property or calling the police, they left him a surprising note.

The note said, “To the person going through our trash for their next meal, you’re a human being and worth more than a meal from the dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a couple slices of hot pizza and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked.”

Employees at the pizza chain have had regular interactions with the man over the years, but each time an employee had tried to approach him or offer him something to eat, he would hurry away in embarrassment.

After months of trying to help the man, the employees grew desperate to help him and left the kind-hearted note. They felt like he needed more than dirty pizza scraps, and now he had the chance to eat every meal in peace if he chose to.

The kind gesture isn’t the only thing that this Little Caesar’s restaurant does to help the needy though. At the end of each night, the employees gather any left over pizza and take them to local homeless shelters.

These kind employees believe we’re all human beings and nothing should stop us from caring for one another. They know there is no reason to throw away perfectly good food when there are so many people right in our own towns that need it.
