While jogging with her dog in Altadena, California, Azita Milania came across a sight that she never expected. It was 1998 and buried underneath the dirt where her dogs had begun digging were two tiny human feet.

She removed the baby from the ground and cleared his nose and mouth of dirt while begging the baby not to die. The umbilical cord was still attached to the baby.

While waiting for emergency help, Milania says the baby grabbed her wrist and stopped crying. When first responders arrived, they took the baby to Huntington Memorial Hospital where he was nursed back to health.

Milania visited the baby frequently, but just a few days after being nursed back to health he was adopted and given the name of Matthew Christian Whitaker. She lost track of the baby not long after.

Thanks to her quick actions, the baby lived, and Milania has thought about him often over the past two decades since she found him. She’s always wondered what became of him.

Despite her efforts to find him, she has been unsuccessful. But after some hard legwork by the producer with “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” she was able to be reunited with him twenty years to the day of his rescue.

Check out the video below of their emotional reunion and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
