Pedro Viloria considers himself just another McDonald’s employee, but he went above and beyond his regular duties recently when he jumped out of the drive thru window to save a woman in need.

The woman had pulled up to the drive-thru window with her two small children in the back seat. Viloria, 22, was getting ready to serve them breakfast when he realized something was drastically wrong.

The kids started screaming and crying at the their mother, and it was just seconds before her foot slipped off the break and the SUV she was driving lurched forward.

Viloria knew the woman was having a medical emergency of some kind, and if he wanted to save her and her children, he had to act fast. With little hesitation, he jumped right out of the drive thru window and took off after the car.

The footage of Viloria going after the SUV was caught on the Doral, Florida, McDonald’s security camera. Once out the window, Viloria caught up with the car, got it to a stop, and started taking care of the woman.

Another employee from the same McDonald’s jumped in to perform CPR until emergency medical crews could arrive. Viloria says he would have died to save the woman if he would have had to.

Although what exactly happened to the woman hasn’t been released, she is a member of the Miami-Dade Police Department and was off duty at the time of the emergency.

Per the request of her family, however, it was released that she did survive the incident and is still in the hospital recovering thanks to the quick thinking of a very special McDonald’s employee.
