An elderly dog stayed right by his owner’s side, even after he had died. For three days, Robbie, a 14-year-old Scottish Terrier, stayed by his owner until the body could be found. While it may sound like a sad story, Robbie’s foster mom is hoping for a happy ending.
Robbie was in the garden with his owner at their rural Columbia County, Wisconsin, home when the man died from heart disease and heat exhaustion. Faithfully, Robbie stayed by his side until someone came to find his owner.
For three days, the little companion went without food and water. His foster mom says when he was found, he was dehydrated and covered with ticks. He also had two areas of sunburn of open, raw skin. Robbie’s wounds have since healed.

“He’s a very loyal dog. He’s a survivor and he’s just going to keep going. He’s a fighter,” says his foster mom. Robbie has some trouble walking and getting up, but she hopes to find a new owner to fill the tiny dog’s big heart.
“He’s going to be a great dog for someone who is looking for a low key, low energy, no energy, and very, very loyal, loyal to a T, loyal to the end pet,” she says. Anyone interested in Robbie should contact the CARE pet rescue in Waukesha and fill out an adoption application.

Be sure to share Robbie’s heart warming story with your family and friends. Let’s find this little guy the home that he deserves.
