Summer is unfortunately coming to the end in the next few weeks, meaning millions of students and teachers alike are preparing to go back to school. While parents everywhere are ecstatic about this, teachers and school administrators often dread the start of the year, as it is a stressful time for them.

Principal Gerry Brooks of Lexington, Kentucky is someone who knows all about this. Gerry is often asked by others, “what the most stressful part of the beginning of the school year is,” and he always gives the same answer: kindergarten lunch duty.

A hilarious new video is going viral in which Gerry rants about why helping newbie kindergartners in the lunch room is the most stressful task any educator can have. Gerry says that this process is “like trying to get a bunch of kittens to do something.” Once they are finally corralled to a table, a whole new set of problems is presented.

Gerry goes on to rant about the kindergarten students who bring “fancy” Lunchables, which means that he is left with countless packages to open. He also explains that all the children have stories that begin with “umm, umm, umm…” and have heated debates about such ridiculous topics as whether ponies would make good indoor pets.

This rant serves as a hilarious reminder of how much our children’s teachers and school administrators do for them every day. We really are grateful to them for all that they do for our kids!
