In the adorable video below you can see a baby Boston terrier excitedly eating its food. As she eats her back legs seem to stretch further and further away and continually keep raising off the floor until…. WHOOPS! She tips right over into her food bowl.

Her humans laugh in the background of the video and help her back up right, but it looks like she’s bound to repeat the process before her dinner is over.

This video is only one of several around the internet that show a puppy getting so excited over their dinner that they topple heals over head right into their bowl. Why is this so common you ask? According to one animal behaviorist, it’s just the nature of puppies.

He says the cute accidents are a result of the physical way that puppies are built and gravity. Puppies, just like human babies, tend to have large heads in relation to the rest of their bodies.

As they lean forward to eat, and they get their focus on the food, they lose their balance and their hind legs come off the ground.

The result, they get so caught up in eating they don’t even realize their back legs are off the ground, and sometimes they flip right over. He says the motion is not intentional, but rather an adorably cute accident of a happy puppy focused on eating.

Whatever the reason, the puppy in the video is adorable, and doesn’t seem to even notice that she’s about to flip into her food. When she does, it doesn’t even slow her down. Her human picks her up and she digs right back in.
