Any mother knows that being pregnant is a difficult experience. Soon-to-be mothers need lots of food and rest, so becoming pregnant while homeless can be very stressful for them.
Rosie is a golden retriever mix who was already in the advanced stage of pregnancy when she arrived at the Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue. Workers there were thankfully able to find her a foster home fast so that she could be taken care of in the final days of her pregnancy.

Katie and John Black have fostered over 20 dogs in the past few years, so the idea of taking in a pregnant canine was exciting for them. When it finally came time for Rosie to give birth, however, Katie and John learned that they were in for a major surprise!
The four puppies that Rosie gave birth to looked very different from their mother, to say the least!

“Not quite what we were expecting. Our foster dog and Golden mix gave birth yesterday. To baby cows,” Kate recounted in a viral post on social media.
Rosie was unbothered by her puppies’ appearance, and she loves them with all her heart!

The Blacks decided to have some fun and give the four puppies cow names, so they named them Daisy, Clarabelle, Betsy and Moo.

Nobody knows who the father is, but it’s safe to say that he was NOT a golden retriever!
When the four puppies were old enough, they were each adopted into loving homes. Even Rosie has since been adopted and found the forever home that she needs!
