A video is going viral this week showing the first time a 4 year-old girl who suffers from cerebral palsy walked.

At the beginning of the video, which was posted to Instagram on Monday, a little girl named Maya is seen struggling to get on her feet. Once she gets her balance, Maya manages to take a few steps, much to her delight!

“I’m walking!” she exclaimed, “I’m walking!”

This was a huge moment for Maya and her family, as doctors had said that she would not be able to walk for at least six months after undergoing a major spinal procedure in May. Just two months later, Maya has proven doctors wrong in a huge way by walking without the help of a walker or a cane!

“She’s doing it. You’ve done it for like a minute,” the girl’s brother can be heard saying excitedly.

“First Steps – 4 years, 10 months,” the caption of the video read. “I can’t even put into words how we are feeling. Nothing seems to fit the enormity of this moment for us. We are beyond proud of our Mighty Girl.”

This girl clearly has a lot of fight in her, and we think she will beating the odds in many more ways in the years ahead!
