The characters Ross and Rachel on the iconic television show “Friends” were America’s favorite couple in the 1990s and early 2000s. Now, rumors are swirling that the actors who played them may be dating in real life!

Sources claimed to Closer that Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer have become close again after filming the sitcom’s 25th anniversary special earlier this year.

“After the reunion, it became clear that reminiscing over the past had stirred up feelings for both of them and that chemistry they’d always had to bury was still there,” one source said. “They began texting immediately after filming and, just last month, David flew from his home in New York to see Jen in L.A.”

“They’ve been spending time at Jen’s home, where she’s cooked dinners in the evenings, and have enjoyed quality time together, chatting and laughing,” the insider added. “They were also spotted drinking wine, deep in conversation, as they walked around one of Jen’s favorite vineyards in Santa Barbara, where it was clear there was lots of chemistry between them.”

During the reunion show back in May, host James Corden said that it seemed “inconceivable” that no romances happened off-screen.

“I had a major crush on Jen,” Schwimmer admitted, at which time Aniston replied, “It was reciprocated.”

“We were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing,” Schimmer continued. “One of us was always in a relationship and we never crossed that boundary.”

“I remember saying one time to David, ‘It’s going to be such a bummer if the first time you and I actually kiss is on national television.’ And sure enough, it was,” Aniston recalled. “We just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”

Aniston’s marriage to Brad Pitt ended a year after “Friends” came to an end in 2004. She would go on to marry Justin Theroux, who she divorced in 2018. Many fans were hoping that Aniston would reunite with Pitt in the wake of her divorce, but she’s insisted that they are “just friends.”

Meanwhile, Schwimmer is currently separated from his wife Zoe Buckman, with whom he has a 10 year-old daughter.
