Jessica Springsteen, who is the daughter of the legendary singer Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, managed to win an equestrian silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics this week.

Entertainment Tonight reported that Jessica, who is the fourteenth ranked equestrian in the world, called her parents immediately after she won her medal to celebrate.

“I FaceTimed them really quick,” said Jessica. “They were all screaming, I don’t think we understood anything.”

“Just saw their Team USA gear, there was just lots of shouting. I couldn’t make a lot out, but I know that they’re so excited,” she added.

It was Glory Days for Jessica Springsteen, daughter of Bruce, as she helped Team USA to a silver medal in the showjumping with her Human Touch.

While Bruce has experience performing in front of 300,000 people, Jessica wasn’t nervous before her event.

“You definitely start to get the jitters,” she said. “But it was also super exciting. My horse jumped it beautifully. And we really gave it our all out there.”

Jessica told NBC News that she wanted to start riding after watching her mother take lessons, and she began her training on the family’s farm in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

“You’re just focused on what you’re doing, what the horse is feeling,” Jessica told CBS News back in 2019. “And you’re really just in sync and kind of in the zone.”

“I think the chemistry between you and your horse can vary from ride to ride. Some horses, you get on immediately and you click right away, and others it can take a little bit longer and be a bit of a struggle,” she added. “But I think you have to be patient and it has to be a mutual give and take between the horse.”

“I think the key to getting the best out of your horse is just managing their schedule, making a good program in advance,” Jessica stated at the time. “You can pick shows that you think they’ll peak at.”

Stevie Van Zandt, a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, took to Twitter to say, “It’s her first freakin Olympics! Absolutely incredible! She’s put in years of hard work of course, but still!”
