A professional ghostwriter is speaking out this week to say that the “rich and damaged” Prince Harry needs to avoid “sounding bitter” in his upcoming memoir.

Andrew Croft, who has been a ghostwriter for thirty years, said that Harry is the ideal candidate to write a memoir because he “loves to talk about his feelings and wants to be honest.”

“He is rich, powerful, famous and damaged, and, the greatest gift of all for a ghostwriter, his partner supports the idea of him telling all,” Croft wrote for The Times. “Harry’s ghost will need to steer him away from sounding bitter and settling scores.”

Croft also said that Harry needs to be sure that his relationship with his ghostwriter is based on trust, as he will be opening up about some of the toughest moments in his life.

Harry shocked the world one week ago when he announced that he’s writing a memoir that will be released next year.

“I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become,” he said in the announcement. “I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story — the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learnt — I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learnt over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful,” Harry added.

The royal family has reason to panic about the book, given how much Harry has spoken out against them in recent months. In his explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March, Harry was critical of the royal family as he talked about his decision to step down as a senior royal.

“[There was] a lack of support and lack of understanding,” Harry said at the time. “My biggest concern was history repeating itself, and I’ve said that before on numerous occasions, very publicly. … It was like, ‘I need to do this for my family.’ This is not a surprise to anybody. It’s really sad that it’s gotten to this point, but I’ve got to do something for my own mental health, my wife’s, and for Archie’s, as well, because I could see where this was headed.”
