Just two days after Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99, “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver brutally mocked him and his wife Queen Elizabeth, 94, for being cousins.

Philip passed away peacefully on Friday at Windsor Castle, and the Queen immediately went into an eight-day period of mourning for the man she was married to for 73 years. While most tributes to Philip have been respectful, Oliver’s was anything but that, as he was quick to rip into the late royal during his show on Sunday night.

“In the U.K., Prince Philip died, which is a tragedy if you don’t know a single thing about him,” said Oliver. “And even if you know a little bit about him, you might not know this.”

He then played a Sky News clip in which a British pundit who, when asked how Philip and the Queen met, replied, “Well, they were related.”

“Yeah, it’s true. Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth are cousins who later got married—also known as a Giuliani meet cute,” Oliver exclaimed.

The Daily Wire reported that the Queen and Philip were actually third cousins who were both great-great-grandchildren of Queen Victoria.

Oliver’s comments come at a difficult time for the Queen, as she is said to be struggling in the wake of Philip’s death. The Queen’s son Prince Andrew spoke out over the weekend to say that his mother has said that Philip’s death has “left a huge void in her life.”

“I feel very sorry and supportive of my mother who is feeling it probably more than anybody else,” Andrew told reporters after attending a service at the chapel at Royal Lodge Windsor, according to CNN.

“He was a remarkable man, I loved him as a father. He was so calm. If you had a problem he would think about it,” Andrew added. “He was always someone you could go to.”

Andrew went on to say that the royal family are “all feeling a great sense of loss. We’ve lost almost the grandfather of the nation.”

When asked how his mother was feeling, Andrew said, “The Queen as you would expect is an incredibly stoic person. And she described his passing as a miracle. And she’s contemplating.”

“She described it as having left a huge void in her life,” Andrew said, adding that the family is “rallying around to make sure that we’re there to support her.”
