Prince Philip’s funeral took place on Saturday eight days after he passed away at Windsor Castle at the age of 99.

Meghan Markle was not able to attend due to the fact that she is about six months pregnant with her and Prince Harry’s second child, and doctors advised her that traveling was not a good idea. However, she did watch the broadcast of the funeral from her mansion. in California, and she made sure to pay tribute to the grandfather of her husband.

Entertainment Tonight reported that Meghan honored Philip by sending a wreath and a handwritten card. The wreath that she sent was put together by Willow Crossley, who “also contributed to the evening portion of Harry and Meghan’s 2018 wedding in Frogmore Gardens at Windsor Home Park, Archie’s christening at the private chapel in Windsor Castle, and the launch event for the Hubb Community cookbook at Kensington Palace.”

The floral arrangement includes a variety of locally sourced flowers, some of which were even picked from Crossley’s own personal garden. Meghan had specifically asked that the arrangement include acanthus mollis, the national flower of Greece to represent Philip’s heritage, and eryngium to represent the Royal Marines. The arrangement also includes the campanula to show gratitude and everlasting love, rosemary to signify remembrance, lavender for devotion, and roses in honor of June, which is the month Philip was born in.

Meghan personally wrote the card that accompanied the wreath by hand. Philip arrived in the United Kingdom for the first time in over a year last Sunday to attend the funeral. Sources said that Harry is struggling with missing his wife and leaving her at home alone at this point in her pregnancy.

“He’s already really missing Meghan and Archie and has been FaceTiming them every day to check in,” an insider told US Weekly. “He actually speaks to Meghan a few times a day because he worries [about] leaving her when she’s so far along in her pregnancy.”

After Philip’s death, Harry released a brief statement honoring his beloved grandfather.

“My grandfather was a man of service, honour and great humour,” Harry said. “He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm—and also because you never knew what he might say next.”

“He will be remembered as the longest-reigning consort to the Monarch, a decorated serviceman, a Prince and a Duke,” he added. “But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ‘til the end.”
