Yesterday, we reported that Mossimo Giannulli, the fashion designer husband of Lori Loughlin, had been released from home confinement early after serving five months in prison for his role in the college admissions scandal. Now, it’s being reported that Loughlin is “determined” to save her marriage after her husband came out of prison a “changed” man.

“After almost five months in prison, Mossimo is finally out. Prison definitely took a toll on him,” an insider told In Touch Weekly. “He doesn’t expect sympathy but he’s still struggling to adjust to what he went through. It really broke him down and forced him to reevaluate his life.”

Giannulli and Loughlin pled guilty last year to charges related to them allegedly paying $500,000 in bribe money to have their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. Loughlin served two months in prison, and was released at the end of December.

“Lori and the girls were ecstatic to have him back home, but it was very bittersweet,” the source added. “There were a lot of tears and hugging, but he’s changed. It scared Lori to see her one-time protector so beaten down.”

Now that Giannulli is home, Loughlin is “determined” to get their marriage back on track.

“Whatever it takes, therapy, counseling, she wants them to heal and be better from this nightmare ordeal,” the insider continued. “Now it’s all about baby steps. They’re planning a family holiday for the near future. Their focus is on regaining their confidence, getting back out into the world, and definitely doing better. They acknowledge that they did have a privileged life and that they made some mistakes. This was a huge wake-up call.”

After Loughlin was released from prison back in December, another source had said that she was “stressed” about her husband.
